"The best two-guitar team in existence, maybe even in history" (Washington Post), Brazilian-born brothers Sérgio and Odair Assad have set the benchmark for all other guitarists and created a new standard of guitar innovation, ingenuity, and expression. Their exceptional artistry and uncanny ensemble playing come both from a family rich in Brazilian musical tradition and from studies with the finest guitarists in South America. In addition to setting new performance standards, the Grammy-winning duo has played a major role in creating and introducing new music for two guitars. This is exceptional music-making, rooted in a lifetime of playing together and exploring the work of composers ranging from Bach to Villa-Lobos to Gershwin and Piazzolla.
