Partita No. 5 in G major
Partita No. 6 in E minor
Recognized as "one of the most accomplished players in the world, marrying deep scholarship with a lively musical imagination" (Washington Post), Davitt Moroney is that rare performer-scholar who is equally thrilling in recital as he is charismatic in his illuminating program notes. Following his stirring Bach performances in seasons past, Moroney—widely celebrated for illuminating the emotional depths of Bach's work and revealing the subtle, eloquent voice of the harpsichord—returns to Hertz Hall for a recital of Bach partitas, considered among the most brilliant and technically demanding of the composer's keyboard works.
