Praised this season by the New York Times for its "lean, tightly wrought sound and impeccable ensemble work," the Calder Quartet is at the vanguard of a generation breathing new life into classic repertoire and charting new terrain through collaborations with living composers. Fresh from a prestigious residency at Juilliard, the ensemble returns to Berkeley with Schubert's masterful Death and the Maiden, and a Schoenberg quartet featuring soprano Yulia van Doren, who sang at Cal Performances in Mark Morris's Ojai North program last season.
Program notes are available approximately one week before the performance.
Parking may be a problem on campus for this performance due to a Cal Men's Basketball game. Please see our Parking Alert section for more information.
