Margaret Cho, comedian
Ali Wong, comedian
Aparna Nancherla, comedian
Hari Kondabolu, comedian

Outspoken comedian Margaret Cho plays host to Front Row 2018, a once-in-a-lifetime, only-at-UC Berkeley experience. This year's event, created specifically by UCB students for UCB students, celebrates and explores issues of race, identity, and power in the entertainment industry. Joining Cho on stage are comedian, actress, and writer Ali Wong; comedian, writer, and performer Aparna Nancherla; and comedian Hari Kondabolu in an evening of comedy and conversation. Of her colleagues, Cho says, "I'm a longtime fan of Ali, Aparna, and Hari and I'm thrilled to be able to work with them on this event. Being a minority artist in a very monochrome entertainment world is tough and I know that we will have so much to talk about!"

More About the Artists

Margaret Cho was named one of the 50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time by Rolling Stone in 2017 and has enjoyed a far-ranging career in television, film, music, and theater. She has been a pioneer in her field, frankly addressing LGBT issues, racial stereotypes, bullying, and feminist concerns like body shaming in her sold-out comedy shows since the early 1990s.

Ali Wong is a comedian, actress, and writer. She currently stars in American Housewife, and in 2016 she received wide critical acclaim for her first stand-up special, Baby Cobra on Netflix.

Aparna Nancherla has appeared on Comedy Central's Meltdown and TBS's Conan and has written for Late Night with Seth Meyers and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.

Hari Kondabolu, who the New York Times has called "one of the most exciting political comics in stand up today," has performed on the Late Show with David Letterman, Conan, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! and has written for Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. He is a regular on the public radio circuit.
