In its latest production, the riveting Japanese taiko troupe TAO brings the centuries-old art form into the present moment with explosive drumming, innovative choreography, and compelling storytelling. For Drum Heart, TAO has collaborated with award-winning Broadway director Amon Miyamoto (Pacific Overtures) to weave the powerful movement of the drummers into a fantastical storyline about the redemptive power of music. TAO's athletic musicians, in stunning costumes and makeup, are joined onstage by bunraku-style puppets, set against breathtaking lighting and set design.
