BEETHOVENSymphony No. 7

Representing nearly a dozen countries, the 107 young musical ambassadors of the Asian Youth Orchestra join hands across political differences and regional tensions to play concerts of exquisite beauty. Each summer, exceptional players from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam meet for a demanding summer of rehearsals and international touring. Here the orchestra plays Beethoven's beloved Seventh Symphony and Strauss' masterfully scored Don Juan, and is joined by acclaimed violinist Sarah Chang for Sibelius' thrilling Violin Concerto.
