Noah Ryang

Ballet

Noah Ryang (Los Angeles, CA) began his dance training at the Ballet California school in Torrance, Los Angeles. He earned a full scholarship from the Petit Oasis Foundation, training intensively in ballet technique with a dance medicine focus. Since moving to the Bay Area, Ryang has completed a BA degree in media studies with a minor in dance at UC Berkeley. Last summer, in Moncalvo, Italy, he trained under and performed original work by acclaimed choreographer Jacob Jonas, whose work includes collaborations with Kanye West, Rosalía, and Britney Spears.

Committed to giving back to his community, Ryang directed the UC Berkeley chapter of Ballet and Books, a national nonprofit group that aims to bridge the literacy gap through a hybrid program of dance and reading instruction. He deeply believes that dance is both a powerful act of creative synthesis and connection, and of service. This is Ryang’s first year working with Berkeley/Oakland AileyCamp.
