Martha Redbone Roots Project

The Martha Redbone Roots Project is “a brilliant collision of cultures…” (The New Yorker). Redbone and her ensemble of masterful musicians take audiences on an American music journey through time, weaving the sounds of her childhood and ancestral homelands in Harlan County, KY. Celebrating the music of her multicultural southeastern heritage, Redbone’s work blends folk, blues, and gospel sounds from the ancestors of the Black migration with the Indigenous foundations of the region.
