
Rebecca Hepplewhite
British cellist Rebecca Hepplewhite (née Hewes) has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, Asia, South Africa, and the US, including concerts at Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. She lives in London, where she is principal cellist of Orpheus Sinfonia, Belmont Ensemble, and Trafalgar Sinfonia. Passionate about new music, she has commissioned, premiered, and recorded many new works, both for solo cello and for mixed ensembles. She performs internationally as part of the renowned Svyati Duo with organist Julian Collings, with whom she has recorded two critically acclaimed CDs of music for cello and organ on the Regent Records label, with a third to be released next year. Other releases include chamber works on NMC Recordings, Usk, and Chandos. Highlights for 2025–26 include a series of performances of Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations and Elgar’s Cello Concerto and two concert tours of the US.
