Sold Out Events

Many of our events sell out far in advance, but many times there is a possibility that tickets may become available due to subscriber or single-ticket buyer exchanges. For this reason we may offer a convenient notification service to alert you if tickets become available for the performance you’re seeking. Performances will be added as they sell out, please check the event details pages for notification list links, or a note that we will not be offering a notification list.

Please note:

  • shows with multiple dates do not receive notification list sign-up unless all dates are sold out.
  • we may not offer a notification list for sold out events in our smaller venues (such as First Congregational Church) as there is less likely to be newly available tickets in enough quantity.
  • even with some events in Zellerbach Hall or the Greek Theatre, we may not offer a notification list as we would not anticipate enough newly available tickets to open for large release.

How does the notification list for sold out performances work?

If there will be a notification list available for an sold out event, you will be able to request to be added on the event page for that performance. If tickets become available for the performance, we will send you an email notifying you to call us or visit the website to purchase tickets. All tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Am I guaranteed tickets?

No, there is no guarantee that tickets will become available, and if they do, they are sold on a first come, first served basis. This is a notification service ONLY.

Why can’t you sign me up? Why do I have to go to the website to do it?

This is an automated process, so to be sure you get to the right list, we ask that all patrons sign up via the website.

If I enter my email address to be notified about sold out shows, am I signed up for the Email Club? Am I going to receive a lot of spam and other emails from Cal Performances?

Signing up for the list grants Cal Performances permission to email you regarding that performance only—no SPAM, and it does not put you in our Email Club. However, the Email Club is a great way to get discount ticket offers and other information about Cal Performances events. Sign up on any page of our website!

I don’t have an email address. Can you take my phone number and call me instead?

Due to limited resources, we are unable to notify customers by phone when tickets become available. However, you are welcome to call us as frequently as you would like to check on ticket availability. All tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
