Vienna Boys Choir
Christmas in Vienna
Celebrate the start of the holiday season with a choir of crystalline young voices raised in song! The world-renowned Vienna Boys Choir returns to Berkeley on Thanksgiving weekend, decked out in their trademark sailor suits and bearing a “garland of carols of many nations” (New York Classical Review).
The talented and rigorously trained boys, aged 9–13, hail from more than a dozen countries and carry on a six-century Viennese choral tradition. They sing a joyful program of Austrian folk songs, classical masterpieces, and Christmas hymns and carols from around the world, including favorites like “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “Joy to the World,” “White Christmas,” and their very own rendition of “Stille Nacht,” the original Viennese version of “Silent Night.”

EVENT CANCELLED
Cal Performances regrets to announce the cancellation of the Vienna Boys Choir. As the safety and well-being of the children must remain their primary focus, the Choir has made the difficult decision to cancel all touring activities, local and international, for the remainder of 2021 due to the increased restrictions imposed by international authorities, and the continued uncertainty surrounding international travel and the spread of COVID-19. Ticket holders are being notified by either phone or email.
