Théotime Langlois de Swarte, violin
Charismatic and accomplished violinist Théotime Langlois de Swarte returns to Berkeley with a thrilling program of Baroque showpieces.
Rapidly emerging as a much sought-after soloist (on both Baroque and modern violins), de Swarte has built a reputation for breathing new life into centuries-old music, whether standards of Baroque repertoire or obscure, even unfinished works. Regardless of what is on his music stand, and whatever his role on stage, de Swarte’s dynamic, spontaneous, and frequently improvisational approach delights audiences the world over.
“Théotime Langlois de Swarte reminds me why I fell in love with Baroque violin in the first place” (Gramophone).
