Dovid Friedlander

Dovid Friedlander spent 16 years as Associate Concertmaster of the North Carolina Symphony, following positions with the Columbus Symphony and as Assistant Concertmaster of the San Antonio Symphony. His orchestral work includes performances with the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood under Seiji Ozawa and Claudio Abbado, and with the Pittsburgh Symphony under Mariss Jansons. As a soloist, he has performed with the North Carolina and Winston-Salem Symphonies and served as Guest Concertmaster with the symphony orchestras of Fort Worth and Indianapolis. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and Eastman School of Music, Friedlander is also a regular performer at the Northern Lights Music Festival in Ajijic, Mexico. He now lives in Mexico with his wife and daughter, where he runs the Violin Gym—an online violin training program built around the techniques he developed across a career at the highest level.
