Vincent Chavez

Vincent Chavez (Albuquerque, NM) received his formal dance training from Dance Theater Southwest (Albuquerque), Ballet Hispanico (New York), Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre (Las Vegas), and the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program (San Francisco). He has performed with leading companies including the San Francisco Opera, Robert Moses’ KIN, Oakland Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, and New Mexico Ballet Company.

Chavez has taught, directed, and coached in numerous programs that expose students to the transformative power of dance, expression, and creativity, including the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts, San Francisco Youth Ballet Academy, ODC Youth & Teen programs, and Orinda Ballet Academy. He began working as AileyCamp’s ballet instructor in 2019 and is honored to bring his dance education experience to his new role as AileyCamp’s Associate Director. This is Chavez’s fifth year working with Berkeley/Oakland AileyCamp.
